3 of 6 I saw parts of the framework being built off site (in a hanger at Greenham Common — the US Air Force base and site of a women's peace camp since 1981) The large oak parts were sawn and planed by machine. To see the scale of the structure is to understand the enormous human labour expended in making the original Globe playhouse's framework, using hand saws, axes and adzes.
