Baskets for pigs and fighting cocks
In Bali I found a profusion of baskets. I imagined coming back to list and photograph them: Hefty bamboo tubes for carting pigs to market; light open-bottomed cages for showing off fighting cocks on grass outside the house; filigree cages hoisting songbirds in the air; finely woven square boxes in graduated sizes for storing clothes; woven platters stacked with towered offerings of coloured rice and flowers carried on women’s heads to the temple; rough dirty baskets of carpenters’ chisels, planes and saws; street vendors’ baskets on springy bamboo poles; keranjang tutup makanan dari rattan…
