Barcaldine Masonic Temple

I first saw this delightful building in 1973 when I was a student doing fieldwork for my thesis. In 1980 I had the pleasure of documenting various repairs to the building, and the reinstatement of the sham-stonework painted onto the wooden facade.

I carted my monorail camera out to Barcaldine, with tripod and black cloth, and shot this image on 4x5 Ektachrome film.

I wrote an article for Heritage Australia magazine about this building.

(I did this work as a staff member of Richard Allom Architects).
